S.S. Calabria


The S.S. Calabria was built in 1901 by D & W Henderson in Glasgow for the Anchor Line and was launched in Apri 1901. Her maiden voyage took her from Naples to New York later that May. From 1901 to 1921 she sailed the Mediterranean ports and New York. She commenced her last voyage on September 8th 1921 when she left Trieste for Patras, Palmero, New York, Havana, and Glasgow. The ship was laid up and sold for scrap in 1923 and broken up in London.

Carmelo Tuzza (Born: 1881) along with sister Salvatrice and her daughter Concettina Randone were aboard this ship in March of 1913 on their venture to America from Sicily, Italy.
