The S.S. Germania was launched on August 2nd, 1902 for the Fabre LIne of Marseilles by Chantiers & Ateliers de Provence, Port de Bouc. She sailed her maiden voyage on March 19th, 1903 from Naples to New York. In 1912, accomodations for 60 2nd class passengers was added. In 1914, she commenced her last voyage from Marseilles to Valencia - Almeria - Lisbon - New York. Later in 1914, she was renamed S.S. Britannia. In October of 1914, she sailed her first voyage under the new name from Marseilles to New York. She made her last voyage along this same route in January of 1926. In October 1927, she was scrapped at La Seyne, France.
