The S.S. Kaiser Wilhelm II was built but A.G. Vulcan in 1889 for North German Lloyd. She sailed her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York on August 27th, 1889 after being launched April 23rd, 1889. She made 6 voyages on the Bremen, Suez, Australia services before being rebuilt for more tonnage. November of 1892 she was transferred to the Genoa, Naples, New York service until 1903 when she sank at her berth in Genoa. After beingrefloated that same year, she commenced the Bremen, Southampton, New York service. In 1900, the vessel was renamed Hohenzoller and between 1901 and 1906 ran the Genoa, Naples, New York service routes. On May 10th, 1908 she ran aground at Alghero, Sardinia and was scrapped in Italy.
