The Manchuria was built in 1904 by New York Ship Building Company in Camden, New Jersey for the Pacific Mail SS Company. She was first used for Hong Kong to Yokohama to San Francisco services. In 1916, she was sold to the Atlantic Transport Line. Between 1918 and 1919 the vessel was used as an Army Transport ship. In 1928, it was sold to the Dollar Steamship Line in San Francisco and renamed President Johnson. In 1947, it was sold to Portugal and renamed Santa Cruz and eventually scrapped in 1952.
