S.S. Palatia


The Palatia was built by A.G. Vulcan for the Hamburg America Line. She was a sister ship to the Patria and the Phoenicia. The vessel was launched December 8th, 1894 and sailed from Hamburg to New York on her first sailings April 28th, 1895. In October of 1902, she began the Genoa, Palermo, Naples, and New York service which lasted for 10 voyages until 1904. She was then sold to the Russian Navy and renamed Nikolaiev and converted into an auxiliary cruiser. In 1917, she was renamed Norodovoletz. June 6th 1920 she was foundered at Lenningrad, St. Petersburg and scrapped in 1925.
