The S.S. Patricia was built in 1899 for the Hamburg America Lines by A.G. Vulcan. It was launched on February 20th, 1899 and sailed on her maiden voyage from Hamburg to New York on May 7th, 1899. IN 1900 she was re-built to accommodate more tonnage and again in 1910 for the same reason. On January 2nd, 1910 the ship rammed and sank the ELBE V. Her vessel. The last Hamburg to New York run was on November 27th, 1913. In 1914, the German Government used the ship as a transport ship to China. In March 1919, the vessel was surrendered to the United States and re-allocated to Britain in 1920 until 1921 when it was scrapped.
