The S.S. Sicilia was built by C. Connell & Co, Glasgow in 1890 and was launched for the Hansa Line on August 13th, 1890 as the S.S. Stubbenhuk. Her maiden voyage started on October 19th, 1890 when she left Hamburg for Quebec and Montreal. She was purchased by Hamburg America Line in March of 1892. On April 21st, 1892, she started her first Hamburg to Antwerp to Montreal voyage. In 1894, she was renamed S.S. Sicilia and her first Hamburg to Boston sailing started on December 22nd that same year. March 13th, 1901 she began her first Genoa to Naples and New York voyages with her last service on this route being February 2nd, 1902. In April 1902, She made her first of nine sailings between Odessa, Constantinople, Piraeus, and New York. She was sold to Japan in 1913 and renamed S.S. Komagata Maru. In 1925, she was renamed again as the S.S. Heian Maru. She was wrecked on February 11th, 1926 near Cape Soidomai, Japan.
