S.S. Venezia


The S.S. Venezia was built by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson, Wallsend-on-Tyne in 1907 for the Fabre Line of Marseilles. She was launched on April 30th, 1907. She sailed from Marseilles on September 8th, that same year her maiden voyage to Naples, Almeria and New York. On March 8th 1919, she started her last Marseilles to New York and back to Marseilles voyage. The S.S. Venezia was chartered to Compagnie Generale Transatlantique (French Line) in 1919 for use on their Cuba and Mexico service. She was destroyed by fire in the North Atlantic on October 19th, 1919.

Addolorata Masone (Born: 1879) was aboard the S.S. Venezia in January 1910 along with Daughters Celeste (Born: 1904) and Vittoria Iadanza (Born: 1906) and sister Lucia Masone (Born: 1882) as they immigrated from Italy to Brooklyn, New York.

Pietro Mummolo (Born: 1886) along with two sisters Antonia and Maria and wife Domenica Favale in the middle of 1911 leaving the rest of the family behind for establishment in America. Their final destination was 224 First Avenue, New York.
