S.S. Tartar Prince


The S.S. Tartar Prince was built by Short Bros, Sunderland and launched for the Prince Line in January 1895. She was used on the South American service until 1897. On November 30th, 1897, she started sailings between New York, Naples, Genoa, and Leghorn. Her last crossing on this service started on June 11th, 1902 when she sailed from Leghorn for Genoa, Naples, Palermo and New York. Transferred to a new route between New York and South Africa, she was destroyed by fire on her second voyage on November 25th, 1902.
